it seems that having a fringe is similar to having a newborn.
it takes a good 6 weeks to settle in and get used to each other.
it's taken awhile but i am loving having a fringe (bangs).

my fave part of it all is the many secrets my fringe is hiding...
Fringe Benefit #1:
my original reason for wanting a fringe was to hide my increasingly disturbing wrinkles on my forehead:
which it does (very effectively!)
BUT!
i didn't count on it also hiding this:

c'mon mamas, raise your hands up and hollah, you know what this regrowth is all about!!
(ewww, it's like a fringe within a fringe!! gross)

but the most exciting, and unexpected, Fringe Benefit is finally being able to hide (sort of) these:

my "Donkey Ears"*. and i'm more than happy to take 'sort-of' hidden.
(unless you're sitting behind me in church and then my game's totally up.../sigh)

* while in Korea i half-heartedly dabbled with the idea of having my ears "pinned". The Korean surgeon I met with told me (quote): You have what we call "DONKEY EARS" (end quote). i kid you not. exact words. Maybe
Thank you Fringe...i heart you xo

Not only are you amazing, inspirational and gorgeous, you are also hilarious (in a nice way). The fringe totally suits you, but you had those 'hidden secrets' totally covered before too. I never noticed. Love it. Cx
ReplyDeleteYou have put those words and pictures together so well. I think it looks great and my hand is definitely up on the 'post baby regrowth' thing. Takes ages to come right too. I had it after my first and it was just starting to come right and I got pregnant again didn't I? Seems likes its been happening forever.
ReplyDeletehaha - I NEEEEEED a fringe! My husband has donkey ears too (I'll have to let him know that he does when he gets home from work soon).
ReplyDeleteYou are funny Dee!! Tee Hee
ReplyDeleteHe he...I got a fringe a couple of months ago for the first time in twenty years - I know just what you mean :) What a great post!
ReplyDeleteThe fringe suits you beautifully - and I'm with you on the mummy regrowth too ;)
Had to laugh at the Korean surgeon - having lived there for a couple of years I remember well there being no tact in translation!! I think it might be because Korean already has all the manners built into the words, so often the niceties go awol in English?? :) He he he...
I have the exact opposite to donkey ears...mine a really tiny and very folded and my husband hassles me for having no lobes...someone in high school said they look like dried apricots...hmmmmm
ReplyDeletethe fringe is awesome!
you are super cuteness
Ahh yes, fringes really are superb. Mine is mostly to hide the fact that my forehead is HUGE. But I sure am glad to have it now that I have had babies and now allll about the loveliness of regrowth.
ReplyDeleteI could, unfortunately, also definitely write a list of cons about having a fringe. But maybe you're already onto that?
1. Your title is pure brilliance. I adore you. 2. I want to look like that with a fringe. Amazing.
ReplyDeletei wish i could do a fringe but na, HAVE to have my hair away from my face. i have those terrible regrowth things at the mo - what is with them anyway???!!
