it's been a weird kind of a birthday.
with the horror of yesterday's earthquake in Christchurch it didn't really seem right to be too celebratory.
instead, it's been a day of deep, deep gratitude.
especially for these precious people:
i often wonder (and by 'wonder' i don't mean, ponder or consider, i mean WONDER - as in "n. awe, astonishment, surprise, or admiration; a marvel") how i get to be here. with this husband, and these children, living this life, in this place.astounding.

and so, our Birthday Season is over for another year.
xo

Happy Birthday - you truly are a blessed lady!
ReplyDeleteCorker pics of one very lovely family. I can imagine the gratitude, I was feeling it too today. Happy birthday xx
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dee - looks like we share a birthday, only I am 100 years older than you. Today has been a very weird day, our beautiful city is so destroyed & devastated & we are in such serious shock at the loss of life. We are starting to hear of people we know that are dead. I have to say my day hasn't been at all happy, but I am so grateful that all my family & friends are safe and have been able to celebrate with me xx
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dee!
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are certainly with you all right now and as the recovery process begins. It is a reminder to me to treasure all that I have in my life - love, enduring friendships and a safe environment.
Hugs xxx
